Who Protects the Internet? What Google, PayPal, and eBay Can Teach Us About Digital Trust
Every day, billions of people shop, pay, log in, and interact online, rarely thinking about the essential systems that make those experiences safe.
Join us for a key Ground Zero Breakfast Series conversation focused on digital safety. We will discuss user trust, identity, risk management, and the complexities of modern internet security with our guest, Vahe Amirbekian.
Vahe, who holds a PhD and is a product professional and senior executive at Google, brings experience across crucial fields such as Trust & Safety, Identity, Risk Management, and Regulatory Compliance.
Before his career in Silicon Valley, Vahe, who was born in Armenia, pursued graduate studies in computer science. He has held product and operations roles for over twenty years at notable companies, including Motorola, eBay, PayPal, Signifyd, and Google.
Vahe has remained deeply committed to Armenia by mentoring entrepreneurs, supporting Ayb School since 2005, investing in Armenian startups, and recently helping unlock YouTube monetization for creators based in Armenia.
Moderated by Karén Gyulbudaghyan, Tech Diplomacy Pioneer, ecosystem architect, founder of Ground Zero Venture Café, and Strategic Value Ventures, the conversation will explore how AI, identity, payments, cybersecurity, and human behavior are reshaping digital trust. Also, it will focus on what founders, executives, investors, policymakers, and students can learn from someone directly responsible for building the trust infrastructure behind today's digital economy.
Whether you are an entrepreneur, executive, investor, policymaker, student, or simply someone who uses the internet every day, this conversation will change how you think about trust in the digital age.
Expect practical insights, behind-the-scenes stories, Vahe's fun facts 😍, and an engaging discussion on one of the most important and least visible foundations of our connected world.
