Shop & Stay: AAPI Pop-Up, a Sunday of makers, movement, and mahjong

You've been meaning to do something with your Sunday. Here's your sign.

On June 7th, 217 Collective is taking over The Lark in Irvington for an afternoon built around AAPI-owned businesses, real community, and the kind of experiences you actually leave talking about.

$30 gets you in. The rest of the afternoon is dealer's choice.

What's happening inside:

🀄 Finally Learn Mahjong for real this time — with Dragons Den Mahjong NYC's Chinese, Hong Kong, and Taiwanese mahjong club brings the tiles, the teachers, and the whole ritual. Three 45-minute sessions throughout the afternoon (2:30, 3:15, and 4 PM) — beginners welcome, spots are limited. This is the one where you stop saying "I've always wanted to learn" and actually do.

💪 Strength 101 with MLJ Fitness | Presented by FridgeFuel Certified trainer Meryl Joshy brings 10+ years of making strength training feel like it was built for you. Upper body, lower body, real technique — no experience needed. Two sessions at 3 PM and 4 PM. Show up as you are.

Brought to you by FridgeFuel — an AI food app that scans your fridge, syncs with Apple Health, and builds recipes around what your body actually needs that day.

🛍️ The Makers Market We did the work so you don't have to. Some of the most talented Asian-owned businesses and makers — in one room, on a Sunday afternoon. The kind of finds you'd only stumble on after years of knowing the right people.

Come meet them first:

Momo's Cafe — Ardsley's favorite coffee shop, known for creative seasonal drinks people drive out of their way for. Setting up on-site so you can sip and shop.

Meera Mehta — She’s back!! Westchester-based author and storyteller. Children's picture books, personal essays on womanhood, fertility, and identity. Books and merch at her table.

Kesha Dalal — Brooklyn-based oil painter working at the intersection of South Asian heritage, femininity, and generational memory. Discover her prints and originals for the first time in Westchester.

Sevaa — Handcrafted South Asian apparel made from 100% cotton, plant-based dyes, zero plastic. The answer to every time fast fashion didn't feel like you.

Jhula — Mommy & me loungewear designed by a mom, for moms. Coordinating sets that are soft, intentional, and built to last well past the newborn stage.

Plus a sampling table of local Asian-made snacks from newly launched Milk Moon Bakery, Sip Junglee, Asha Pops and Nom Nomz
