Catalyzing Collective Action for Global Groundwater Resilience
Groundwater underpins climate resilience, food security, ecosystem health, and economic development, yet it remains one of the most overlooked resources in global climate, water, and development agendas. As momentum grows ahead of the 2026 UN Water Conference, a critical question remains: how do we turn increased attention to groundwater into sustained, coordinated action?
Hosted by EDF, IUCN, and IWMI, this invitation-only discussion will bring together leaders from government, international organizations, philanthropy, civil society, research institutions, and the private sector to explore what is needed to accelerate groundwater resilience globally. Building on recent dialogues and the emerging Global Groundwater Resilience Joint Statement, participants will examine opportunities to strengthen collaboration, align existing initiatives, and identify the partnerships, leadership structures, and collective actions needed to drive meaningful progress in the years ahead.
