Created during the zenith of shopping malls and yuppie culture, Chopping Mall and Phantom of the Mall: Eric’s Revenge offer gleefully bloody counterpoints to the rampant capitalism of their era. Steeped in fluorescent light and consumerist excess, these films ask what happens when profit and growth are prioritized over people.
