Diplomacy and Development in the Era of AI: Turning Innovation into Impact Fireside Conversation & Networking at India AI Impact Summit 2026
AI is no longer an experiment. It is a leadership responsibility for governments, diplomats, and global institutions alike. This two-part, off-the-record conversation hosted by ServiceNow and the Business Software Alliance explores how AI can be governed, deployed, and scaled in ways that strengthen ties between nations, increase connectivity, advance economic development, and deliver real societal benefit.
The first half features The Honorable Mr. Amandeep Singh Gill, Under-Secretary-General and Special Envoy for Digital and Emerging Technologies at the United Nations, examining AI for economic development and social good. This discussion will center on unlocking inclusive growth, productivity, and innovation, as well as ensuring AI serves as a global public good that benefits societies, economies, and communities at scale.
The second half features a conversation with senior public and private sector leaders including Jared Ragland, Vice President, Policy – APAC, Business Software Alliance; The Honorable Rajkumar Upadhyay, CEO of the Center for Telematics of India; and Mr. Frederic Werner, Chief of Strategy & Operations and AI for Good of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) focused on what the public and private sectors must get right to responsibly scale AI, align technology to mission outcomes, govern it in real time, and ensure it augments human judgment, trust, and performance in an increasingly complex geopolitical environment.
Hosted by Combiz Abdolrahimi, Global Head of Government Affairs & Public Policy at ServiceNow, the session brings together senior government leaders and industry executives for a candid dialogue on translating AI ambition into practical impact—across diplomacy, development, and human flourishing—followed by networking.
