Soapbox Project and Oatly are teaming up to bring you a ✨barista bonanza✨—an interactive event where you'll:
connect with Seattleites interested in reimagining the food system over planet-friendly appetizers and activities
learn about local sourcing, building relationships with farmers, and tangible alternatives to factory farming via a Q&A with Chef Ash from Ojaswe and Chris Edmonds from Oatly, moderated by Soapbox Project CEO Nivi Achanta
take action by making your own mixed drinks with locally sourced ingredients (no experience required!)
What to expect
6pm: doors, snacks, & activities! We'll have some food-related activities for you to meet new friends who share your values.
6:30pm: opening announcements. Please do your best to arrive by 6:30.
6:30-7:10pm: interactive Q&A with Chef Ash and Oatly's NA Sustainability Director Chris Edmonds where YOU get to shape the conversation
7:15-8:15pm: barista bonanza! Play with ingredients and make your own mixed drinks (with guidance and artistic direction from Eli Sadow-Hasenberg of Searoot Supper Club); you can opt-in for your drink to be entered into our competition
8:15pm: showcase, prizes, & how to stay in touch after Climate Week
8:30pm: event ends
About our hosts & speakers
Ash Glover-Ganapathiraju is an entrepreneur and chef building Ojaswe, a company that makes climate-friendly food easy for everyday people to enjoy—because the meals we share today shape the world we live in tomorrow. She's also Soapbox Project's chef-in-residence.
Chris Edmonds is Oatly's North America Sustainability Director. He's also a climate justice advocate at the intersection of plant based food and the built environment.
Eli Sadow-Hasenberg is the founder and executive chef of Searoot Supper Club, a project dedicated to building climate resilient and place-based dining in the Pacific Northwest.
Nivi Achanta is the founder and Executive Director of Soapbox Project, a nonprofit that creates the world's most joyful third places for climate and civic justice.
