What you should know

About the event:

  • The official title is hello summer, goodbye Jonny

  • May's monthly theme is labor x climate and every 4th Tuesday of the month is our REFLECT night with arts, crafts, vibes

  • Usually these are more structured but since Jonny (our wonderful community lead) is leaving, it's mostly going to be a dinner party with a sustainable fashion show&tell* component and reflection on the first half-ish of 2026.

  • You do not need to know Jonny in order to attend, I promise there will be other people there

  • From 6-6:45 we'll have our dinner party, from 6:45-8 we'll have a sustainable fashion show&tell and other activities, and from 8-9 we'll just be partying (dancing? karaoke? who knows. but it will be a good outlet for your climate anxiety)

(*It's not really a fashion show in the traditional sense it's more so: wear an outfit that's meaningful to you and show it off. This is just for fun, not mandatory)

More broadly:

  • Soapbox Seattle is the city's most joyful community space for climate action. We gather EVERY TUESDAY same time same place (climate church?? lol)

  • It's all ages

  • Plant-based dinner is always included so you don't have to think about what to eat. We have our own lovely chef so the food is cooked with love from local and regenerative farmers

  • No you do not have to be "a climate person" to come; you just need to be excited to meet people who share your values of caring about the earth/each other/wanting to breathe air etc. and no experience is required!

  • There will be activities and programming! This is not one of those networking events where you pretend to be on your phone because you don't know what to do.

  • All our events are sliding scale and if the litsed options don't work for you, you can request a reparative ticket here if you need one. It costs us ~$35 per person to put on so please contribute what you can

This space is hosted by Soapbox Project, a nonprofit that creates joyful community structures to heal our climate anxiety and loneliness through expertly facilitated connection, learning, and action activities. Find your place in the climate movement with our online and in-person community!
