Weaving Our Cutie Cottage

​Spend a cozy afternoon designing and weaving your very own dream cottage.

​In this beginner-friendly 3-hour workshop, you’ll start by sketching a little cottage inspired by your imagination, favourite places, or the kind of home you’d love to escape to. You’ll then translate your drawing into a woven tapestry, building your cottage with different yarns, colours and textures.

​Guided step by step by textile artist Aashita Jain, you’ll learn how to work with a small frame loom, create different textures with yarn, and turn a simple drawing into a tactile piece of art. We’ll finish the tapestry together and mount it onto a wooden dowel or stick so it’s ready to hang.

​Ticket Options

​Without Loom : Includes all workshop materials and use of a loom during the session. The loom stays with the studio after the workshop.

​With Loom : Includes all workshop materials and the weaving loom you use during the session, which you can take home and continue using for future projects.

​Artist Bio

​Aashita Jain is a Montreal-based textile artist and the founder of Surface Studio, a creative practice centred around tactile making, slow crafts and community. With 11 years of experience in fashion and textiles, she draws inspiration from traditional craft techniques and material experimentation, creating approachable workshops for beginners and curious makers.
