About Event

Who really controls Pakistan's energy future: citizens or regulators?

Can Pakistan pivot from being a climate victim to a renewable energy leader within Global South alliances?

How do we ensure solar-storage benefits extend beyond to marginalized communities?

This session will focus on the answers to these questions, examining how public consciousness can convert into organised political pressure, how Pakistan can leverage South-to-South climate partnerships for concrete gains, and how community solar models and innovative financing can universalise access rather than deepen energy divides.

Presenters:

  • Nadeem Afzal Chann (Former MNA, Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians)

  • Heidi Douglas (CEO, Solar Citizens)

  • Shahid Sattar (Energy and Economy Expert)

  • Zaigham Abbas (Head Pakistan Chapter, Asian People’s Movement on Debt and Development)
