Data Availability Technical Workshop
Input Output Research (IOR) is hosting the next session in a series of technical workshops under Cardano Vision 26. The aim of the Data Availability (DA) workshop is to drive specifications and requirements, including preparing a Cardano Problem Statement (CPS), roadmap discussions and implementation handover.
As Cardano’s L2 ecosystem develops, there is an increasing need for efficient on-chain data availability mechanisms. The research work explores the design space for a DA layer that enables rollups and off-chain systems to post data to L1 at low cost, drawing lessons from approaches such as blob-based architectures. A central challenge is balancing cost efficiency with verification and storage requirements, ensuring that L2 scaling does not introduce new bottlenecks at the base layer.
This workshop will be hosted by Fergie Miller, Director of Research Partnerships, and Giorgos Panagiotakos, Research Fellow at Input Output Group.
