Research for the Rationale: Organizing Your Gallatin Concentration with Notion
riting your Gallatin rationale isn’t just about what you studied — it’s about how you connect your research, coursework, and methods into a clear academic story.
Research for the Rationale is a Notion-centered workshop and panel designed to help students organize, frame, and refine their concentration using practical tools and real examples. Featuring students from a range of disciplines, this event will show how different types of research — academic, creative, and applied — come together in strong rationales.
The first half of the event will introduce Notion-based workflows for rationale preparation, including:
Building a works list database
Mapping themes, methods, and questions
Tracking revisions and advisor feedback
Turning scattered projects into a cohesive narrative
The second half will feature a panel of Gallatin students who will discuss how they structured their rationales, chose what research to include, and navigated uncertainty throughout the process.
