From the Forest: Proactive Forest Management with Jay McLaughlin
Building Health & Resiliency on the Mt. Adams Community Forest
With our forests increasingly impacted by destructive wildfires, fragmentation and ownership changes, the Mt. Adams Community Forest strives to be a place where we can blend tried and true practices with innovation in pursuit of healthier, more resilient forests that benefit our communities and the other things that depend on them.
Join us for a morning with MARS director and forester, Jay McLaughlin, as we discuss what this looks like on the ground, observe our most recent work, and explore what we are learning and where it might lead us. If circumstances allow, we may even visit an active logging project.
Space is limited to 20 participants. If your plans change, please let us know so we can offer your spot to someone on the waitlist.
Please come prepared to spend the morning outdoors. We will be hiking over uneven forest terrain to visit project sites and discuss forest management on the ground.
Items to Bring:
Closed-toe shoes
Water bottle
Clothing appropriate for the weather
