D&D 5e with Keenan
This is an RPGFest event; we'll be playing an in-person tabletop roleplaying game with a small group. The game will be hosted in Hyde Park. Come prepared to roleplay!
The Seams of Stonestock Oneshot: Stonestock, a coastal Temnic town in the young Druland Confederacy, has seen repeated raids by the recently expelled Vanisarman people from across the channel in recent months. As the closest area in the Druland Confederacy to the Whitoy Islands — where the Vanisarmen hail from — the land surrounding Stonestock has been rich with opportunities for mercenaries, adventurers, holymen, and others being hired to swell the ranks of local garrisons. Great wealth flows here as the Confederacy looks to bolster the defenses of its coast without sending its limited manpower to respond. With the influx of people and money comes trade, and with trade comes opportunity to raid. It is the job of these individuals to prevent this from happening.
You are among the many who have found themselves in the region serving one of the multi-dozen assemblies along the coast of the Colorless Sea. You’re employed by, partner with, or in some fashion serve the Assembly of Stonestock, the council of elders that has acted as the lawful government of Stonestock since the Temnic people forged themselves into the Druland Confederacy in a hard fought rebellion five years prior. Stonestock supports under a thousand people, each frightened by the Vanisarmen who lurk out beyond the horizon. When the distress signal of the nearby hamlet of Kaliskre is spotted, it is you who is sent to determine what goes on beyond these hills and forests. Make way for Kaliskre, find out what is going on, and do whatever is necessary to maintain the safety of Stonestock.
In regards to a brief overview of the ruleset, we will be using 5th Edition Dungeons & Dragons (2014), with each character being 5th level and created using a modified standard array for stats (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 10). All official D&D 5e classes and subclasses are permitted. The PHB races will be the primary denizens of the world. All spells, feats, and multiclasses are available for use, but outright powergaming is gently discouraged.
