About Event

airplane mode is a new invite-only night for the people who build the Bay Area's best mobile apps: senior, staff, and principal iOS and Android engineers.

v1.0: a fireside with Vinay Gaba

Vinay has spent over 15 years writing Android code and building consumer apps at Airbnb, Snapchat, and Spotify. Google Developer Expert for Android, author of airbnb/Showcase and Learn Jetpack Compose By Example, and the writer behind the Dispatch newsletter (jetpackcompose.app/newsletter, worth your inbox). Today he runs AI tooling for all of Databricks.

We'll get into what actually happens when you point coding agents at a multi-million-line codebase, what AI coding costs look like at scale, and what it means for how mobile teams ship, from someone who's lived the mobile side of it. Honest and unfiltered. Bring questions!
