About Event

A candid panel conversation on what AI is doing to travel discovery — and what luxury suppliers and trade businesses need to do about it.

One in three US travellers now uses AI to plan and book their trips. (Skift, 2025.)

That number is not a forecast. It is the current state — and it is reshaping who gets considered, who gets shortlisted, and who gets booked before a guest ever speaks to an advisor.

The shift is consumer-led. But the consequences run through the entire value chain.

This session is built around a single thread: the guest decides where they stay, not the agent. That has always been true. What has changed is where the decision is forming — and how early. AI is now the first stop for guests researching milestone trips, complex itineraries, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences. The shortlist is being built before the advisor conversation begins. If your property or operator is not in it, you are not starting from equal footing. You are not starting at all.

For trade-focused businesses, this creates a specific and underacknowledged problem. You may have built your model entirely on advisor relationships — and done it well. But if the guest arrives at that advisor conversation with an AI-shaped itinerary already forming, and your name is not on it, the advisor cannot sell you. The guest has already half-decided.

AI readiness is not a B2C marketing project. It is a commercial survival question for every business in the luxury travel value chain — and the undifferentiated middle is most exposed.

What we will cover:

The travel discovery shift and why it is moving faster than most businesses have adapted to. What AI readiness actually means in practice — content, structure, authority, and the technical infrastructure that determines whether AI can find you, trust you, and route a booking to you. Why showing up is not enough: the difference between appearing for a generic query and appearing for the specific, high-value query that matches your best guest. How to handle the enquiries that AI is already routing — and what happens to your trade relationships when they arrive direct. The commercial case: what changes in revenue, acquisition cost and margin for the businesses that get this right, and the cost for those that wait.

This is not a session about AI in the abstract. It is a practical conversation about what to do, why it matters commercially, and where to start.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This session is for you if you are:

  • A hotel, lodge, resort or private property navigating how AI is changing the way guests discover and shortlist you

  • A tour operator or experience provider whose trade relationships depend on being the property the guest already wants to visit

  • A commercial or sales director trying to understand what AI readiness actually requires — and what the cost of inaction looks like in 12 months

You do not need to be technical. You need to care about where your bookings come from.
