🤖 AI for Local Life — CMU SV ECE Hackathon with NewsBreak.
Build an AI agent that solves a real problem in someone's day-to-day local life.
Join us for an afternoon of building, hacking, and demoing with fellow CMU Silicon Valley students. This hackathon challenges you to design and prototype an AI agent that makes a tangible difference in everyday local life — think errands, discovery, safety, community, convenience, or anything else that touches how people actually live day to day.
👥 Teams
Form teams of 2–5 people, either in advance or when you arrive. We recommend starting to think about your topic/theme beforehand — the more baked your idea going in, the more you can build during hacking hours.
📅 Schedule
11:30 AM – Doors open / event start
11:30 – 12:00 PM – Intro, theme walkthrough, and welcome talk via Zoom, presented by NewsBreak
12:00 PM – Food arrives, hacking begins
12:00 – 4:00 PM – Hacking hours — team up and build your product + demo
4:00 – 6:00 PM – Demos, judge feedback, and winners announced, followed by socializing
After 6:00 PM – Wrap-up
