Innovate with Purpose - A Workshop on Putting Values into Action
As part of Human+Tech Week & the Human Flourishing Track - come join Karina Alexanyan from the Positive Tech Institute and Manuela Travaglianti from the McCoy Family Center for Ethics in Society at Stanford University for a hands-on workshop on ethical reasoning for innovators.
Intended for Founders, Builders, Storytellers, and other stakeholders, this workshop will help you think through the ethical and societal implications of your tech at every stage of the development lifecycle, so that you can innovate with purpose and achieve better outcomes for your organization while advancing prosperity for society at large.
You’ll leave with a set of concrete and actionable resources and exercises you can use individually and with your team to explore and assess the ethical and societal impacts of your work, and plan thoughtful action in response. We’ll also introduce the Positive Tech Pledge - a values rooted “Hippocratic Oath” for innovators and stakeholders, with a focus on sovereignty, well-being and abundance for all.

Workshop Leaders: Dr. Karina Alexanyan leads the Positive Tech Institute, with 15+ years of experience at the intersection of tech and social impact. Dr. Manuela Travaglianti leads the development and implementation of the Ethics Toolkit at Stanford’s Ethics Center, with 20 years of experience across academia and industry working at the intersection of conflict, ethics, and tech.

Tier-one labs presenting AI, Ethereum, biotech, neuroscience, longevity, robotics, makerspace, human flourishing, and arts & music. These floors will house innovators and creators pushing the boundaries of human potential in a post-AI-singularity world.
