Star Trek: Voyager, Season 3, Episodes 8–9 (November 1996). Voyager is yanked out of the Delta Quadrant by a 29th-century timeship whose pilot claims the ship is about to destroy the solar system. Both end up stranded in 1996 Los Angeles, where they find that the entire personal computer revolution — every chip, every boom — was reverse-engineered by one man from a timeship that crashed in 1967. Henry Starling didn't invent anything. He found it.
