Workshop: Writing a Pitch and Pilot for Horror TV Series (Day 2 of 2)
Stranger Things. Lovecraft Country. The Haunting of Hill House. The best horror series don't just scare us for an episode—they pull us into a world, a cast, and a slow-building nightmare we can't stop watching. But before a show ever gets made, it has to be pitched, and it has to open with a pilot that hooks.
In this two-day workshop, we'll develop a horror TV series from the ground up, using current shows like these as our guide. Along the way, we'll focus on two characters every great horror series needs: a compelling protagonist to root for, and a terrifying antagonist to fear.
Day 1 — The Pitch & Show Bible: we'll look at the most important elements of a new series pitch and how to develop your show's Story Bible.
Day 2 — The Pilot: we'll turn that foundation into the episode that launches your series.
Come with an idea, a half-formed concept, or a show you've been dreaming up for years. Each day builds on the last, so by the end of the workshop you'll have the groundwork for your own horror series—a pitch, a show bible, and a pilot taking shape.
