Mixed Media Embroidery

​This workshop will be a celebration of abstract mixed media embroidery. Using textured embroidery stitches, you will create your own piece that combines collage, fabrics, painted elements, beading, and found objects.

​This workshop will go into more complex stitches such as couching, open cretin stitch, feathered stitch, and open chain stitch. These will create a foundation of interesting textures to build upon the elements you put down on fabric.

​If you have attended the Painting on Fabrics or Lino printing workshop, please feel free to bring along your work to use in this workshop.

​You are also welcome to bring along any personal mixed media to use, such as photos, fabrics and found objects to sew.

​This workshop will be hosted at Seeded Southsea.

​Materials and refreshments will be provided. If you would like to bring your own you are welcome to! Please let us know of any dietary requirements on booking.
