climate fiction writing party (online event)
Happy Earth Month, friends! 🌍 What's a better way to begin our celebration than to step into the future and imagine the world you want to live in!
Inspired by Grist's Imagine 2200 Climate Fiction Initiative, we are welcoming you to write your own climate fiction story, with special guest Tory Stephens who leads Grist's Climate Fiction program!
In this interactive workshop, participants will co-create a climate fiction story that brings hopeful, sustainable futures to life. Working in small groups, you’ll take turns building a shared narrative!
Here's what to expect
💜 CONNECT: Kick things off with a fun, low-pressure prompt to spark creativity and get everyone thinking about their vision for the future
📚 LEARN: Get a short introduction to climate fiction, including a story excerpt to ground us in what’s possible when imagination meets climate reality
💥 ACTION: Collaborate in small groups to co-create your own climate fiction story
☁️ REFLECT: Come back together to share insights, themes, and what these imagined futures reveal about the actions we can take today
Everyone is welcome and no writing experienced is need! We welcome your curiosity <3
