Clay Club CO // Workshop: Build Your First Clay Function
✨ Purpose
Clay Functions just launched in April — and they might be the most important feature Clay has shipped this year. Functions let you take any enrichment sequence you've built and turn it into a single reusable column you can call anywhere in your workspace. Instead of rebuilding the same 12-step waterfall in every new table, you build it once and reference it everywhere. Edit it once, every table updates.
This workshop is a hands-on build session. You'll leave with at least one working Function in your own workspace and a clear playbook for which workflows in your stack are worth turning into Functions.
(And yes — this happens to be one year since the very first Clay Club Denver event. Come help us celebrate.)
💬 Vibe
Hands-on, casual, and skill-level mixed. Bring your laptop — this is a build session, not a demo. We'll start with a quick walkthrough together, then break into small groups (~6 people each) where you'll work on a specific Functions use case with peers tackling the same problem.
👩🏻💻 What we'll cover
Together to start:
— What Functions are and when to reach for them
— A live build: one workflow, taken from sprawling column group → single reusable Function
— How inputs, outputs, and nesting work
Then in breakouts (pick your track):
— Account & contact enrichment
— ICP scoring
— Signal detection
— AI outbound personalization
🛠️ What to bring
Laptop (required), Clay workspace, a workflow you've been rebuilding too many times.
No worries if you don't have a paid clay workspace: we'll be able to give you access to credits add features for the day.
