Paper to Petal: A Paper Flower Workshop with Artist Seden Session 1
Paper to Petal: A Paper Flower Workshop
Led by Seden’s Workshop, learn the essentials for constructing paper flowers through hands-on demonstrations, and experiment with arranging them in fun and unique ways.
In this hands-on workshop, special guest Seden’s Workshop will demonstrate and guide participants through a set of core techniques for building paper flowers. From there, participants will use their personal vase as a starting point to experiment with colour and arrangement, creating a floral composition that responds to the character of their own vase.
This workshop is designed for participants who want to learn practical paper flower techniques while exploring their own creativity through arrangement and composition. The session will begin with Seden demonstrating basic methods for paper flower making, such as cutting and shaping petals, constructing the body, and creating stems. After trying out these core techniques, you will have dedicated, heads-down time to practice, experiment, and refine your flowers.
Unlike real flowers, paper allows for more playful and unexpected forms that are harder to achieve with fresh stems. Seden will guide participants in designing an arrangement from scratch, providing insight and advice as you choose your own colours, forms, and composition. Participants can draw inspiration from their chosen vase, mood, or visual references provided in the workshop. By the end of the session, participants will leave with a personalized paper-flower arrangement that reflects their own unique creativity and could make a thoughtful gift or unique statement in their home.
Participants are required to bring a vase or vessel to work with. This doesn’t need to be a traditional flower vase, any vessel that can hold stems is welcome. All paper materials and tools will be provided.
