Deployment made Easy: Put Your Apps on Your Own Server
You’ve built automations. You’ve built apps. Now let’s get them off your laptop and onto the internet, on a server you control, for a few dollars a month.
In this hands-on workshop, we’ll go from a blank server to live, secure apps running on your own domain. No DevOps background needed. We’ll use Coolify, an open-source platform that gives you the convenience of Vercel or Heroku on your own infrastructure.
What we’ll cover
What a server is and how to set one up. We’ll get into a cheap Contabo VPS, lock it down properly, and point a domain at it.
Docker, explained simply, then made easy with Coolify. You’ll understand what Docker does, then deploy n8n on your own server with SSL in a few clicks. We’ll also show how the same approach works for Supabase, Directus and the Hermes AI agent.
Deploying your own app (optional). Use Claude Code to containerise your app, connect it to GitHub, and watch it redeploy automatically every time you push. If you only want the first two parts, you’re welcome to leave before this one.
You’ll leave with
A live server you own and know how to secure
n8n running on your own domain
A repeatable way to deploy open-source tools and your own projects
Who this is for
Students from our Automate with AI and Build with AI courses, Zindua graduates, and anyone in the Zindua community who wants to stop depending on someone else’s platform to run their work.
Before you come
To follow along hands-on, you’ll need a laptop and a Contabo VPS set up before the session. We’ll send registered attendees a short setup guide in advance. Can’t get it done in time? Come anyway, watch, and use the guide to set it up afterwards.
