Often called one of the most important novels in Spanish, Pedro Páramo blends the living and the dead, dream and reality. A son travels to the town of Comala to find the father he never knew, Pedro Páramo, only to encounter a place filled with voices, echoes, and ghosts. As he moves through this spectral town, the story of Páramo and the people bound to his power slowly emerges.
Rulfo’s slim novel has influenced generations of writers, including Gabriel García Márquez and Mario Vargas Llosa.
