Designing the Future with Talok Capital and Friends.
A small hackathon focused on AI, taste and consumer design.
📍 Location @YES SF; July 23, 2026 5pm-10pm
We're bringing together a small group of brilliant product builders in consumer technology (founders, designers and engineers) to showcase their talent, brainstorm with other great creators in the space and take a swing at the status quo. The evening will open with Evan Buhler of Talok Capital interviewing a Qian Jiang, a prominent designer in tech, on the timeless principles of design: what remains true in the age of AI, and what's being rewritten.
Then, we'll present our guests with a challenge :)
Pick one of three pillars of the old guard - LinkedIn, Wikipedia or Google Calendar - and build an add-on feature that shows us what's missing.
Teams will demo their work in front of a panel of 3x judges, with awards granted for the strongest builds. Please expect real feedback, inspiration and the chance to meet people who can change the trajectory of what you're building.
This isn't just about disruption. It's a collaborative effort to redesign what already exists, and to make the products we live in happier, healthier and more pleasant :)
