Workshop on how to run an event with Toronto Event Generator (or on your own)
Want to run a participatory event? Not sure how?
Want help making it happen?
Come to this virtual workshop
From Misha Glouberman
Toronto Event Generator is my project, with support of the Trampoline Hall Lecture Series, to make Toronto a better place for participatory events. Among other things, we provide microgrants, help people find venues, and help with promotion.
I’m especially interested in events that function as a magnet for smart people who are interested in ideas and in feelings, are high in openness to experience and curiosity, and who are high-agency and up for some social risk-taking. The ideal events are playful, and not not too earnest. I’m interested in events where people can find connection and make friends. (Not, e.g., performance for a passive audience of spectators). You can read more about the project here.
Come to this workshop if
You are interested in learning more about Toronto Event Generator and what projects we support
You want to learn more about how to run a successful event that connects people (whether via Toronto Event Generator or not)
You want to connect with other people in the city interested in running events
This will be an online workshop running for 90 minutes or so. If you can, it’s best to log in via a computer than a device, and probably best to use the Chrome browser if you can (we’ll be doing some things in Zoom that work best on a computer, and spending some time in gather.town, an online space that works best in Chrome)
