Annual Art-full Afternoon with Alvin Ailey + Brunch
On Sunday, December 14th, Art-full Members are invited to join us for one of our most cherished holiday traditions — an afternoon matinee with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater at New York City Center, preceded by a delightful brunch at La Grande Boucherie.
Hailed by the Huffington Post as “the most exciting dance company in the world,” the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater continues to captivate audiences with its soulful blend of modern dance, African American cultural expression, and pure human emotion.
We’ll begin our afternoon at La Grande Boucherie, one of Midtown’s most stunning Parisian-style brasseries. Known for its soaring Art Nouveau interiors, marble accents, and warm hospitality, it’s the perfect setting to connect with fellow members over a refined French brunch.
We are especially honoured to welcome Elizabeth Roxas-Dobrish, former Alvin Ailey dancer and current Ailey School faculty member, as our guest of honor at brunch. Elizabeth will share insights from her extraordinary career, reflections on performing Ailey’s iconic works, and her personal experience carrying forward the company’s powerful legacy. Her presence will add a deeply meaningful layer to our afternoon as we prepare to experience the performance together.
The matinee program features a breathtaking selection of works by both Alvin Ailey and Judith Jamison, Artistic Director Emerita, whose powerful influence helped shape Ailey’s vision and global impact. It will be a vibrant celebration of heritage, resilience, and the timeless power of dance to unite and uplift.
Enjoy this inspiring afternoon surrounded by fellow members who share a love of art, movement, and meaningful connection.
