Seedling Exchange @ Earth Month Convergence

​Come together around plants this April 18-19 at the Earth Month Convergence, a two day gathering at Socrates Sculpture Park bringing together land and water defenders, community members, and Indigenous elders from far and wide. Please also RSVP for the EMC via the link just above! There will be workshops, shared meals, artist vendors, and more throughout the weekend. On Saturday April 18, we'll also be hosting our fourth annual seedling exchange!

​Growing plants won't stop war or prevent our overlords from kidnapping our neighbors, but it is a small (sometimes large, sometimes potent) counter spell to the disembodying, disconnecting spells of c@pitalism and f@scism. Plants know how to bring us into relationship with our bodies and our neighbors; plants bring us together.

​If you have any extra seedlings that you've started at home or elsewhere (or even bought at a store), bring them to the sharing table! We'll have a bunch that we've started at the Astoria Food Pantry, so bringing seedlings is not required to come. This is a great space to connect with other plant people, learn a thing or two, and take home a new plant friend or two. All for free!

​We'll have a bunch of medicinal herb seedlings in particular. We are starting a free herbal apothecary at AFP this year. If you feel inclined, you can bring a medicinal plant home, grow it out, use what you and your friends need, and bring any extra harvest back to AFP to contribute to the apothecary.

​There will be other events and activities happening at the park as part of the EMC in parallel to this exchange. There will be much to do! See you there!
