SwapArt — A curated exchange for art, design and collectible objects
SwapArt brings together people, objects and stories in a curated setting designed for discovery, exchange and connection.
You’re invited to bring up to three pieces you’re ready to let go of and discover objects brought by others. Exchanges can happen through a direct swap, a swap with a price difference, or a purchase.
Each object is pre-selected and assigned an indicative value range to help facilitate transparent and balanced exchanges.
For our Second Edition, SwapArt partners with Studio Ahrt in Amsterdam for an intimate evening of objects, stories and new connections.
✨ How it works
1. Request to join
Register your interest in attending the event.
2. Submit your pieces
You’ll receive a short form where you can share up to three objects you’d like to bring, including images and relevant information.
3. Selection
Each submission is reviewed to create a curated and balanced mix of art, design and collectible objects.
Once your participation is confirmed, you’ll receive the information needed to secure your spot.
🔄 How exchanges work
During the event, you’ll be able to discover the other participants’ pieces, express your interest and connect directly with their owners.
An exchange can take place through:
Direct swap — exchange one object for another
Multiple-object swap — exchange two or more objects for one or more pieces of a comparable overall value
Swap + price difference — exchange objects of different values and compensate for the difference
Purchase — purchase an object directly if both parties agree
There is no obligation to exchange or sell. Everything happens only when both participants agree.
The SwapArt team will be available throughout the evening to facilitate introductions and exchanges.
💬 Share the story behind your object
Every object has a story.
Participants who wish to can briefly share the story behind the piece they brought — why they chose it, what it means to them, or why they’re ready to pass it on.
Sharing is completely optional, but it’s a chance to discover the people and stories behind the objects before they potentially find a new home.
🎨 What you can bring
You can submit up to 3 pieces, generally within an indicative value range of €300–€2,500, with some flexibility depending on the object.
The selection can include works by emerging and established artists and designers.
Art
Paintings, works on paper, photography, editions and small sculptures.
Design
Lamps, chairs, small furniture, vases, ceramics and collectible design objects.
Collectible objects
Distinctive objects with artistic, design or collectible value.
All pieces must be authentic, owned by the participant and available to exchange or sell.
Items should be reasonably easy to transport and display. Please avoid oversized or particularly heavy pieces.
💸 Facilitation fee
A facilitation fee applies only when a successful exchange or purchase takes place.
Exchanges: 5% per participant, calculated on the agreed value of the exchange.
Purchases: 5% paid by the buyer.
If you leave the event without completing an exchange or purchase, no facilitation fee applies.

18:30 — Welcome & introduction
From 18:45 — Optional storytelling, discovery & exchanges
20:30 — End of the event
Light drinks and small bites will be available throughout the evening.

Together, SwapArt and Studio Ahrt are creating an intimate setting where people can discover new pieces, meet their owners and give objects the opportunity to begin a new story.
