About Our Tea Lounges
Tea Tribe has been producing tea lounges at events for 20 years. We helped to popularize gongfu tea at West Coast events and festivals, inspiring numerous spin-off tea services.
Tens of thousands of people have experienced our tea lounges at hundreds of events: parties, weddings, conferences, festivals, and also at the events we produce, including World Folk Jam, World Jazz Jam, Midwinter Magic, Midsummer Magic, Equinox Enchantment, Folktronika, Heartform, Glitch.Bass, Teacompression, Teapocalypse, and Be Here Tao.
Tea Tribe's Philosophy
Tea Tribe's founder, oshan anand, was introduced to gongfu tea in 2006 by renowned healer Master Wang, apprenticing under him for several years while also studying Chanoyu (Japanese Tea Ceremony) at the Urasenke Foundation.
Oshan founded and operated Om Shan Tea, an organic restaurant and teahouse in San Francisco's Mission District, from 2008 to 2012. The establishment served as a prominent cultural center for the city’s spiritual and arts communities.
Oshan is passionate about promoting tea culture as a remedy for many of our societal ills. He believes it helps to inspire community, mindfulness, healing, reverence for nature, and heart-based communication. His goal is to nurture tea culture and create spaces for the sharing of tea, inspiring more people to connect mindfully face-to-face.
