About Event

Hi! Last July we released the ARIA 'opportunity space' Trust Everything, Everywhere. In it, we laid out a broad vision: the future of trust in an increasingly programmable, cyber-physical and agentic world.

Since July we've been exploring potential £10-100m r&d programmes to coordinate within this opportunity space, thinking through questions such as: what is a deliverable worth shooting for, what kind of people and projects should we fund to get there, how can we coordinate their efforts and how will we be able to measure success along the way.

Ultimately, we need to pick one programme to start with. This is where you come in! You're invited to a two-day workshop on October 13th & 14th where we hope that:

  • you help us strengthen, poke holes in, or totally obliterate our current programme direction (all fantastic outcomes!).

  • you join us in establishing a new global, cross-disciplinary r&d community focused on frontier cryptography and cyber-physical systems.

  • you leave the workshop with new, unexpected collaborations and research threads to explore.

Let us know if you can make it, we're excited to have you with us!

The Trust Everything Everywhere team (Nico, Sarath, Edith & Alex)

Quick facts (subject to change):

  • Length: 2 days

  • Timing: 9am on mon 13th to 6pm on tue 14th

  • Format: talks, breakouts and activities, interactive, chatham house rules except for any recorded talks

  • Location: UK, 45mins from London, exact location shared after your registration is confirmed!

  • Participants: 50-70

  • Travel support: we are happy to cover travel & accommodation costs if your institution is not able to

  • Who will be attending: cryptographers, secure hardware researchers, quantum information theorists, security researchers, synthetic biologists, hackers, mechanism designers, AI cybersecurity, cyber-physical systems researchers, robotics researchers, privacy regulators, early-stage venture investors, r&d funding bodies from other countries, philanthropists

Agenda:

  • Coming soon!

  • Our current high-level focus is on two key questions:

    • To what extent can we use AI to reason about security in systems? (as a co-pilot, as a security engineer or as a security researcher)

    • To what extent can we trust agents when deployed in adversarial environments? (both in digital and cyber-physical environments)

  • Topics likely to be discussed: ai-generated security protocols, agentic collaboration in adversarial settings, creating new security benchmarks/challenges for AI security, physical world models, embedding security in nature (using polymers, DNA, quantum states, neural signals), trust protocols in robotics, privacy infrastructure needs in various industries, bio-security, improving secure hardware, neuro-privacy, real-world verifiability, autonomous manufacturing

  • Wanna lead a session or give a short talk? Let us know in your application!

  • Pre-readings (including draft programme theses) to come soon

Capacity is limited, please let us know if you can make it by registering here. In case you'd like to bring someone with you or have any other questions, feel free to reach out to [email protected] and we'll reply asap!
