The Lone Star State shouldn’t have lone star founders — and the Lone Star State shouldn’t have lone cities. That’s why, on October 2, 2025, the Greater Mason Co. Region — representing Mason, Menard, Brady, Junction, and Fredericksburg — will proudly showcase our corner of the Hill Country as part of the Texas Venture Fest, a simultaneous, statewide celebration of innovation and entrepreneurship happening across 15+ cities.
At the Greater Mason Co. Region Venture Fest, we’re spotlighting rural innovation, student entrepreneurs, and regional business leaders from across the Hill Country. The program features:
Student Innovation Pitches — MISD and FISD high schoolers sharing bold new ideas.
Keynotes — including Rep. Wes Virdell (invited) and Ron Ondechek, Jr., Founder of South Highland Ventures.
Expert Panel — Kimble County Judge Hal Rose, MTX Beef, Yonker Meat Processing, Fredonia Peanut Co., and more.
Networking + Community Connections — bringing together leaders, sponsors, and neighbors to celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit of the Hill Country.

Doors open at 5 PM for VIP networking, with the welcome address beginning at 5:30 PM. The program runs until 7:45 PM.
📽️ The evening will be professionally documented by Jonathan Mills Media, with sponsors and speakers receiving media reuse rights to share video and photos that highlight our region as a place to live, work, and play.
💚 Community Roots, Statewide Reach
This event builds on the momentum of past Hill Country Venture Fests in Kerrville (co-hosted in 2023 & 2024 by Katie Milton Jordan at Schreiner University, including an IEDC Gold Award–winning year) and Boerne (co-hosted by Justin McKenzie). We honor the tradition of channeling resources to our neighbors in times of need, such as the Kerrville Flood Relief efforts and Justin’s ongoing work connecting volunteers to Comfort and surrounding towns.
