Art of Order Screenings: Public Opinion, Privately Funded
ALN Academy warmly invites you to the fifth edition of Art of Order, a Pan-African cultural initiative that uses film and art to spark meaningful conversations on justice, governance, and the rule of law across Africa.
For this edition, we will be screening the acclaimed documentary Kikulacho – The Bite Within.
Produced by Camerapix, the film examines how corruption, governance failures, and institutional decisions have shaped the lives of ordinary Kenyans. Drawing on historical archives, personal stories, and voices from across the country, Kikulacho explores the relationship between power, public accountability, and the role citizens play in shaping the future of their institutions.
Presented under the theme Public Opinion, Privately Funded, this edition invites us to reflect on how narratives are formed, how influence is exercised, and how public perception can shape governance outcomes. Through film, art, and discussion, we will explore the forces that sustain systems, the role of storytelling in documenting change, and what accountability means in practice.
The evening will also feature a curated exhibition by Mukuru Art Collective, showcasing artistic interpretations of power, politics, identity, and lived experience from communities across Kenya.
