MAKING OF THE FINAL PIECE

Jötunheimr is a collaboration between glass artist Dylan Katz, Maestro Fabiano Amadi and Maestro Lucio Bubacco, made over the past months at Fornace Amadi on Murano. The finished works go on view from 12 September for Venice Glass Week.
The last piece of the series is made on 15 September, at the furnace. A figure by Lucio Bubacco is set into cast glass by Fabiano Amadi and worked by Dylan Katz using fractura calda, a technique in which hot glass is struck with an axe at the moment it will still take the blow. The process cannot be corrected once it has begun, and it cannot be repeated.
Due to limited capacity and security reasons, attendance is by invitation, and registrations are confirmed individually. Please kindly arrive on time.
