TeamClaws Agentic Hackathon@Improving
Spend a Saturday in Columbus building a real AI agent on real cloud infrastructure.
Prompt to application. TeamClaws is prompt-to-application — describe the agent you want and it gets built and deployed on real cloud infrastructure. No code required, no servers to manage, no OAuth flows to wire up by hand. If you can describe what an agent should do, you can ship it. Programmers get full control of the stack; non-technical builders get the same outcome through prompts.
Every participant gets a free TeamClaws server for the week so you can deploy, connect, and ship an agent that actually does something useful. Show up Saturday at 10 AM, build all day, demo at 4 PM to judges from Joby, Landing Point, and Improving. Best projects win free hosting.
This is a one-day build event. You leave with a working agent on your own deployment — yours to keep using after the event ends.
Not here to build? Come watch. The 4 PM presentations are open to the public — grab an observer ticket to see what gets built, meet the Columbus AI community, and watch the judging live.
What you'll build
A useful AI agent running on a TeamClaws deployment. Anything from an inbox triage agent to a calendar coordinator to a research worker to something nobody has thought of yet. The agents we'll be most excited about are the ones we can actually use at judging time, not the ones that only exist in a slide.
What TeamClaws gives you
TeamClaws is the infrastructure layer for running production-ready AI agents — isolated cloud environments, managed OAuth, secure routing, deployments that just work. You don't manage servers; you build agents.
Every registered participant gets:
A free TeamClaws server from Thursday July 16 through Tuesday July 21 (almost 5 days of access)
Credentials and access to the help server delivered Thursday afternoon so you can pre-stage before Saturday
Lunch on Saturday, provided by Improving
Direct support from the TeamClaws team during the build, via a chat service we built and host on TeamClaws itself
Schedule
Thursday, July 16 (afternoon):
Credentials delivered to all registered participants
Help server opens — you can start exploring, deploying, and asking questions before Saturday
Saturday, July 18 (event day):
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM — Participants arrive, check in, get set up
12:30 PM – 2:00 PM — Pizza + code (lunch provided by Improving)
2:00 PM – 4:00 PM — Heads-down build time
4:00 PM – 5:00 PM — Judging and presentations
~5:00 PM — Winners announced
Observers:
3:30 PM — Doors open for observers
4:00 PM — Presentations begin
~5:00 PM — Winners announced
Tuesday, July 21:
Server access ends (~5 days of access total, so you can keep iterating after the event)
Presentations will be streamed on X.
Two ways to attend
🛠️ Participant ticket (100 spots) — Free Full day of building. Get a free TeamClaws server (~5 days of access), lunch, and judging. Open to anyone who wants to ship an AI agent — code optional.
👀 Observer ticket (50 spots) — Free Arrive at 3:30 PM for the 4 PM demos. Watch teams present, meet the Columbus AI community, and see what people built in a single day. Best for people curious about AI agents, hiring managers, journalists, or anyone who just wants to see the work.
Teams
Work solo or in teams. You don't need to declare a team at registration — form one when you get there or come with people.
Judging
Judges score on whether the agent works, whether it's useful, and whether it's accessible at judging time. A reachable, working agent on a live TeamClaws deployment will beat a polished slide deck every time. Make something we can poke at.
Prizes
1st place: One year of free TeamClaws hosting on the 2GB tier (one server per winning team)
2nd place: Three months of free TeamClaws hosting on the 2GB tier (one server per winning team)
Judges
Eric Speelman — Software Engineer, Joby
Faizel Khan — Founding AI Engineer, Landing Point
Kyle Jenkins — Full Stack Developer, Improving
Hosted by
TeamClaws — a Columbus-based cloud platform for deploying and managing AI agents in isolated environments. We provide the infrastructure layer so you can build agents instead of managing servers, OAuth flows, and DNS.
