​​Nandan Nilekani is one of India’s OG technologist and public thinker. He co-founded Infosys, building it into one of India’s leading global technology companies. Later, as the founding Chairman of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), he led the creation of Aadhaar, the world’s largest biometric ID system, transforming access to services for over a billion people.

​Beyond Aadhaar, Nandan has been a driving force behind India’s digital public infrastructure—from UPI to account aggregators—helping create the foundations of an inclusive digital economy. He is also the author of Imagining India and Rebooting India, two widely read books on India’s future and the role of technology in shaping it.

​Today, he continues to work at the intersection of technology, policy, and nation-building, advising on digital platforms that aim to expand opportunity and innovation at scale.

​In this -1 to Now session, moderated by Aditya Agarwal - Nandan will share the big inflection points, decisions, and learnings from his journey—starting from building Infosys, to architecting Aadhaar, to shaping India’s digital ecosystem, and what he’s most excited about for the future.
