After two meetups at MOX SF, we're bringing the US–China AI Safety community to Berkeley! 🎉
We're hoping to make this a monthly or every-other-month gathering — a casual space to exchange ideas, meet interesting people, and hopefully turn some conversations into real collaborations.
Got an idea? Looking for collaborators? Or just curious about what's happening in China's AI safety and governance? Come join us!
You don't need to be a China expert or have a fully developed project. Half-baked ideas, open questions, and curiosity are all welcome.
This meetup is for you if you:

🤝 Are looking for collaborators, partners, or people with complementary skills

What we'll do
Arrive & mingle: Grab a drink, meet some new faces
Kickoff & introductions: Yan and Ran will briefly share what we've been working on in China's AI governance and US–China coordination
Idea board & matchmaking: Have an idea? Put it on the board! Looking for teammates? Find a project that interests you and add your name
Small-group discussions: Find your people, exchange feedback, and explore what you might build together
Happy hour & open networking: Keep the conversations going!
No slides, no formal pitches required. Just bring your ideas, curiosity, and willingness to connect.
