WWW: Using the Early Web, AI & HTML as Activism
The Internet used to feel fun, magical & whimsical, now it feels overburdened by consumerism and algorithms. Meanwhile, AI has leveled the playing field for anyone with an interest in change; websites can be made in minutes and entire skillsets can be learned in a day.
Join us for a collaborative hackathon and discussion on what we can learn from the early days of the internet and how AI can be used to unlock, democratize, and proliferate activism in it's most original form: freely available information. Learn about why custom-built, old-school websites are the path forward for creatives, activists, and community-builders alike and how AI can be used to facilitate this movement for anyone, even without any tech skills. Walk away with more than a sense of nostalgia — build & deploy a website for your cause on the spot, and in a more sustainable & cheaper fashion than most popular methods today.
This event aims to remind and rediscover the joy and empowerment that comes from owning a bit of cyberspace, and to educate and enlighten on how AI can help anyone, of any background, become activists, visionaries & doers.
