About Event

What if we measured human impact with the same rigor, seriousness, and data as cost and carbon?

Join author Gayathri Unnikrishnan for the NYC launch of People Positive during Climate Week NYC—a warm, high-energy evening exploring the human side of climate action, architecture, and sustainability.

At the center of the evening is a one-night conversation with Stephen Bruno, former Park Avenue doorman and author of the acclaimed memoir Building Material. Gayathri helped shape how buildings are evaluated through her work on the global WELL Building Standard. Stephen saw every day what plans, policies, and performance reports tend to miss.

Together, they will explore the people behind our buildings, whose experiences count as evidence, and how human impact can be measured with the same seriousness as cost and carbon.

Christiana Figueres calls People Positive “a timely and practical contribution to building the just transition we urgently need.”

Expect a warm, lively evening with sharp ideas, funny stories, audience questions, drinks, snacks, a book signing, and time to connect with people working across climate and the built environment.

Admission is free, but seating at Housing Works is extremely limited. Reserve your seat now.
