Building a Reusable Gatekeeper Agent to Defend Against Prompt Injections in Microsoft Copilot Studio
Synopsis
As organizations rapidly deploy multiple Copilot agents, securing them against prompt injection attacks becomes a critical challenge. This session presents a practical, repeatable architecture: a single Gatekeeper Agent that intercepts and validates all user inputs before routing them to your other agents. Built entirely within Copilot Studio, this gatekeeper leverages native Topic Triggers to create a security layer that is both lightweight and reusable. Once the initial setup is complete, attendees will learn how to deploy this defense mechanism to any existing Copilot agent in just 5 minutes—eliminating the need to rebuild security logic from scratch for each new agent.
Brief Introduction of the Speaker
Mr. Alan San Agustin is a technology systems professional based in New Zealand, he is the Director and AI Consultant at Acai Consulting Ltd (NZ). He is also a member of Risk and Insurance Management Association of Singapore (RIMAS), chairing the AI Agent Risk Chapter for RIMAS.
With a strong technical foundation from earlier roles as a Technology Systems Manager, Quality Engineer, and Specification Controller, Alan brings a unique cross-disciplinary perspective to AI security.
