Join us for The AI Salon, a gathering dedicated to exploring the societal impact of AI. This is not a technical workshop or a coding bootcamp. Instead, we are creating a space for critical thinking and open dialogue. We’ll examine how we can shape these powerful tools before they reshape us.
Potential themes to discuss:
The Crisis of Value: If AI can solve problems better, write faster, and code smarter than us, where do humans find their purpose?
Utopia vs. Dystopia: We will map the extremes. Are we heading toward post-scarcity abundance, or a surveillance state where truth is subjective?
The "Messy Middle" (The Transition): Before we reach any potential "AI Utopia," we face a volatile gap. How do we survive the interval where traditional jobs are automated but new social safety nets (like UBI) haven't caught up?
The Power Struggle: Will the future of AGI be centralized (controlled by a few mega-corporations) or decentralized (democratized for everyone)?
What to Expect:
Fishbowl Format: To ensure a dynamic conversation, we will utilize a moderated fishbowl style. This allows anyone who wants to join the discussion to step into the "center" at any time, while ensuring that the floor remains fluid and no single voice dominates.
Unstructured Connection: We believe the best ideas often happen in the margins. There will be dedicated time for unstructured, small-group discussion and mixing to digest the themes of the night.
Diverse Perspectives: We welcome technologists, artists, skeptics, and optimists alike. No technical background is required—just an open mind.
The Record: The session will be recorded to capture the nuance of the dialogue. A full transcript will be provided to all participants after the event.
