The Brutalist Magazine Launch + Exhibition
Come step inside the first issue of The Brutalist and experience brutalism like never before.
The objects come out of the pages. The plants make sound. Concrete is cast in front of you. Food becomes part of the exhibition. Drinks are built for the night. The magazine becomes a room you can walk into.
After years of building, collecting, commissioning, and bringing together works from across architecture, design, fashion, sound, and culture, the first issue of The Brutalist magazine finally launches. Proudly presented to you by Anima Initiative at VENIA Studio during Los Angeles Design Week/end on October 2, 2026
Expect—
3–6 PM — Live Bio-Sonics
BotanicalSound plays exotic plants by ADLR, turning their electrical signals into sound. The plants themselves will be available to purchase and take home.
6–7 PM — Concrete, Cast Live
Watch Cassius Castings create a piece of concrete furniture in the space, then bid on the finished work.
7–8 PM — Issue 01 Launch
The official unveiling of The Brutalist, a few words from the team, and your first chance to secure a copy of Issue 01.
8 PM–Late — Techno
A special guest takes over the sound and carries the launch into the night.
Throughout the day—
Taste a specially created Brutalist menu by French chef Lionel Pigeard.
Sip Brutalist cocktails developed specifically for the launch.
Explore objects and works featured in the magazine, brought out of the page and into the room.
And if something calls to you, take it home. Nearly everything in the exhibition will be available to purchase.
