About Event

From leading MySpace to building and investing in companies like Dollar Shave Club, Liquid Death, Rover, Final Boss Sour, and Sorted, Michael Jones has spent his career at the intersection of culture, technology, audience, and entrepreneurship.

In this edition of IN FOCUS, Michael joins us to explore how the power of an audience has evolved—from the early social web to today’s world of creator-led businesses, IP, and ownership.

The conversation will explore:

  • The evolution of influence: What the early social web revealed about the power of individuals, communities, and audiences.

  • Audience to ownership: How cultural relevance and audience can become businesses, IP, equity, and lasting value.

  • What makes founders work: The human traits and psychology Michael looks for when building companies from day zero.

  • Platforms vs. independence: What creators and founders should understand about building businesses on platforms they don’t control.

  • Building in the AI era: How AI is changing identity, creativity, company creation, and what it means to build something differentiated.

  • What comes next: Where Michael sees the next generation of culturally driven and creator-led companies emerging.

Michael Jones is a General Partner at Science Inc., a venture studio behind $3.5B in exits that builds and co-founds companies from day zero, often as the largest or majority owner. Science has created category-defining brands including Dollar Shave Club, Rover, and Liquid Death.

Michael continues to build companies such as Final Boss Sour and Sorted, and currently serves on the boards of Liquid Death, Pray.com, and Mindset Care.

A former CEO of MySpace and AOL’s youngest SVP, Michael is a recognized authority and frequent public speaker on founder psychology, the human traits behind outsized outcomes, and how AI is reshaping self-reflection, identity, and modern company creation.
