The JC Collective: Demo Day, a Live Comedy Show
A live comedy show where the audience plays the investors.
The JC Collective is a comedy series about four startup founders sharing an office in Jersey City, all chasing the same $1 million check. On November 8 we perform their demo day live at NARRA, and you sit in as the VCs.
The founders are actors playing characters. The pitches are written for the show, and the million is pretend. Your vote is real. The room picks the winner, and that's how the episode ends.
When you arrive, you join a fictional venture fund and sit with it, four or five people to a table. Come with a friend and we'll seat you together. The founders pitch one at a time, and if one loses you, crumple a term sheet and throw it. After the last pitch, your table talks it over and votes on your phone through OurWorld, the app the show is built on.
After the show, stay for a casual dinner and drinks.
The evening is also a special edition of UWC New York's SSS (Second Sunday at Six, ish), and we're co-hosting it with UWC New York.
