Technology stopped being a moat. Nobody's written the replacement playbook.
So what makes a company hard to kill when the technology and the supply chain under it are both moving? And how would you know, today, whether what you're building is still standing in twelve months?
The honest answer is that it depends on what you build. Hardware, software, and biotech each have a different answer to what makes a company hard to kill, and most founders only ever hear one of them — whichever one the people around them happen to know.
Founders are working this out live, without enough cycles behind them to see where it's heading. The people who can see it are the ones who've already watched a market break and rebuild.

Acquired in two years, or built to last; you haven't picked, and you're starting to see those are two different companies
The room is small and every founder in it is vetted. Seats are limited an subject to approval
