Brett King is a producer, creative consultant and longtime media executive. He is known as a leader in discovering trends in both physical production and new media as well as fighting for new, transformative, emerging voices.
Through his production and consultation company, NON LP B-SIDE, King works with legacy media, emerging technologies, brands and creators to provide opportunity and strategies to amplify stories that are commercially viable, culturally specific, and globally relatable. He currently serves as EIC, Culture & Editorial, Network in a Box, (NAIB), a media operations partner for advertisers, platforms, broadcasters and content owners, and as Senior Sales Advisor, Ranked Technology, a creator driven social amplification platform.
Prior to launching Non LP B-Side, King spent a decade at Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) as Vice President, Creative Programming, where he designed, built and executed the studio’s creative audience expansion initiatives, including the studio’s signature Diverse Director and Diverse Writer Programs. Notable program alumni include Oscar winner Barry Jenkins, (Moonlight, If Beale Street Could Talk) and Emmy nominee Salli Richardson-Whitfield (EP, Winning Time, The Guilded Age). In his senior executive role at the studio, he curated, moderated, and participated in panel discussions at festivals and conferences domestically and internationally, headed up partnerships with media affinity groups, and worked across both film and television lines of business to expand access and opportunities for underrepresented populations. King received Sony’s Global Excellence award in 2017 and was recognized in the annual Variety Inclusion Report in 2017 and 2019.
