BeCode - Breaking Code & Barriers: Inspiring Journeys into Tech
Breaking Code & Barriers: Inspiring Journeys into Tech is a panel discussion organised by BeCode as part of The Future of Tech is Female 2026, challenging the idea that a career in technology requires a traditional technical education or a lifelong passion for coding.
The tech industry offers opportunities for people from a wide range of backgrounds, yet many hesitate to take their first steps because they feel they lack the right qualifications, skills or experience.
Through the personal stories of women who successfully transitioned into tech, this panel will explore what it really takes to change careers, develop new skills, and find your place in the industry.
Vanessa Rivera Quinones, Anna Lalova, Andreia Negreira, and Ceren Mörey will share insights into their professional journeys, the challenges they encountered, and the opportunities that helped them move forward.
From overcoming self-doubt and navigating unfamiliar environments to building technical skills and identifying career opportunities, the discussion will offer honest perspectives and practical advice for anyone considering a professional transition.
The objective is to show that there is no single path into tech, and that curiosity, determination, and the willingness to learn can open doors to entirely new career possibilities.
