The GEAR Photography Contest 2026 - Photo-Taking Tour
Designed in Harmony. Reimagined by younger generations.
The GEAR Photography Contest 2026 invites polytechnic and university students in Singapore to reinterpret one of the country's most-awarded recent buildings through your own lens.
This is the registration for the photo-taking tour - a guided session inside The GEAR to capture your contest entries. Choose from six weekday slots between 1–7 July, or the Sunday tour on 5 July (which also opens access to Zone E - Levels 2 & 5, including K/PARK). Each participant may attend up to two slots.
Any camera is welcome - DSLR, mirrorless, film, instant, or smartphone. Closed-toe footwear is recommended for interior site access.
A few things to note:
Drones and any unmanned aerial vehicles are strictly prohibited (Changi Airport airspace).
Participants arrange their own transport to and from The GEAR.
Registration is approval-based - please indicate which photo-taking session you would like to join.

About FutureSCAPE
The GEAR FutureSCAPE is an event that celebrates Kajima’s long-standing belief in the harmony between engineering, architecture, and design, a vision deeply rooted in the architectural philosophy of the late Dr. Shoichi Kajima, who believed that great buildings should embody both function and beauty.
Three years after its opening in Singapore, The GEAR continues to evolve as a hub for R&D, Open Innovation, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Through this initiative, we aim to revisit and reframe its role as a catalyst for architectural dialogue, fresh perspectives, and future-focused design thinking.
The photo-taking sessions are just the beginning. Your work will be judged, shortlisted, and - if you make it to the finals - presented live on stage at FutureSCAPE [Framing], The GEAR by Kajima's architecture and design event on 24 July 2026.
Six finalists will pitch their photographs to a panel of judges, with real-time audience voting before the award ceremony. A total prize pool of SGD 3,500 is up for grabs.
