About Event

β€‹πŸŒ Every year, the world celebrates Global GIS Day β€” a time to explore how geospatial technology shapes the way we understand and improve our world. At the University of Nairobi, we go beyond a single day, bringing together students, professionals, organizations, and innovators for a three-day celebration of GIS and geospatial innovation through the Geospatial Engineering Students Association (GESA).

β€‹πŸš€ This year’s celebration, GIS Week 2026, is themed β€œGIS: Powering Purpose and Innovation.” Across three days, participants will engage in industry exhibitions, expert talks, hands-on sessions, networking opportunities, the annual Visualization Challenge, and other exciting activities exploring how GIS is transforming industries, communities, and the future of Africa.

β€‹βœ¨ Join us as we connect ideas, technology, and people; showcase the power of geospatial innovation; and explore how GIS can turn data into meaningful solutions for real-world challenges.

β€‹πŸ“ Venue: University of Nairobi Towers
